Summer activities and workshops at the planetarium

Universe Matters

A Video Magazine of Astronomy Education from the Nehru Planetarium, New Delhi

During the months of May and June 2011 will be broadcast, the video magazine from the Nehru Planetarium, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, New Delhi, as a part of the summer activities and workshops being held at the planetarium. Video magazine can be accessed at the link below. Next webcast at 11:30 AM on the 6th of May 2011.

Summer workshops in May will be aimed at beginning sky related activities for the very young, and some thrust towards amateur astronomy. June workshops will be for senior school and college students aimed at introduction to some professional astronomy topics.

June 2011

In the month of June, a series of public lectures will be given at the planetarium, by research scientists in the fields of Astronomy and Astrophysics. Half day workshops will be woven around these public lectures, by sandwiching these lectures between sky theater sessions discussing the sky, locating interesting celestial objects from the lectures in the planetarium sky, and discussing possible learning projects for students in these areas. These lectures and the accompanying workshop activities will be webcast.
