August 4, 2006 Antares 0.4° north of Moon, occultation.
Conjunction not very close and occultation not visible as seen from
India.
August 11, 2006 Uranus 0.3° north of Moon, occultation.
Conjunction early in the morning and occultation not visible as seen from
India.
August 11, 2006 Perseid meteor shower
August 20, 2006 Mercury 0.5° north of Saturn – Both planets
too close to the horizon to be easily visible from cities like
Delhi.
August 25, 2006 Mars 0.6°
north of Moon, occultation. At conjunction, the two objects too close to the
Horizon to be visible and conjunction not visible from
India.
August 27, 2006 Venus 0.07°
north of Saturn. This is the most interesting event and one that is visible
from
India. Early in the morning, around 5 AM, look in the eastern
direction. The brilliant object visible there is not just one heavenly body –
it is a close conjunction of Venus and Saturn, a treat to the eyes! Use the
divider a few days before and after this event and check if it is possible to
