Naked Eye Planets

Mercury - is moving towards the morning sky and can be spot near crecent moon on the morning of July 13, look just to the moon's right (south) in binocular and you will spot the bright tiny planet, low on the horizon. By the third week of this month, mecury will climb higher in the morning skies and allow observers to see planet much higher in dawn skies then typically can be enjoyed - In Gemini.

Venus - By month's end Venus will grow in apperent size dramatically, and its shape changes from the "fat gibbous" to a this crecent phase. At the end of July, Venus will attain a size larger than any planet can become and will appear as a "crescent moon" shape in even the smallest telescope. 

Mars - Mars will rise about 1 am and slowly brigtens in its reddish glow throughout July 2007. Watch as Mars moves dramatically eastwards this month, by monitoring its position against the non-moving background stars. 

Jupiter - is found easily looming among the celestial Scorpian This month, only few degrees  above the bright reddish star Antares in the heart of that beast. Look, on July 24-25, for nearly full moon to join Jupiter and the brightest stars of this constellation. 

Saturn - is very low in the western skies at the end of evening twilight.
