(:title Planetarian India Newsletter March 2010 :) http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/8853/planetariumcomposite.jpg An informal association of many (if not all) of the planetaria in India was formed following the 30 year celebrations of the Planetarium at Mumbai, where it was decided that an urgent need existed for a common association of Planetaria in India. An online and more informal association of members belonging to such an association was then started through the yahoogroup http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/Planetarian_India. The group was formed to facilitate an initial exchange of ideas among the members and at a later stage a formal website with an online forum belonging to the formal association of all Indian planetaria was envisaged. The next step in this process is through the introduction of this joint newsletter of Indian Planetaria. This is an online sandbox version. A more formal version is expected to be out for the next quarter April-June 2010, with the launch of a website for the association. The wonderful idea of starting an informal newsletter from all the planetarians of India, was given by Martin George, Chair, International Relations, International Planetarium Society. Thank You! A number of interesting celestial events have happened in the last year and a number of interesting creative activities have also found their way to each and every planetarium in the association.
